Job Description

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is recruiting an Analyst to join the Client Communications team (Research Division). The Client Communications Analyst plays a central role in developing strategies tailored to individual projects and in creating timely, complete, and best-in-class client deliverables in support of VEDP’s business attraction and expansion efforts to secure decisions for Virginia. It is a highly collaborative position requiring support and coordination with internal stakeholders and subject-matter experts, as well as state, regional, and local partners.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand client needs, project strategy, and key win themes
  • Help position Virginia's value proposition through tailored research, content, and project strategies
  • Coordinate the development of client deliverables, including data, narratives, and visuals
  • Review and integrate content into compelling client-facing materials
  • Manage project timelines and deliverable requirements
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality, branding, and client standards
  • Conduct research and analysis to support project strategy and client requests
  • Translate data and analytical findings into clear, usable content
  • Contribute to knowledge management and process improvement efforts
  • Support other research projects and strategic initiatives as needed

  • Ability to synthesize complex information and data into compelling content
  • Experience conducting research and analysis using a variety of data sources
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to effectively manage tight deadlines and competing priorities 
  • Strong design sense and attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

Highly competitive applicants will also have one or several of the following:

  • Ability to visually represent data in creative ways
  • Knowledge of InDesign and/or other Adobe tools
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRMs and project management tools 
  • Knowledge of economic development or regional/urban planning
  • Familiarity with Virginia’s economy

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience developing client deliverables (e.g., proposal coordinator, business developer, marketing specialist, copywriter, editor, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Consideration will be given to other combinations of education and professional experience (including internships)
